May 9, 2025

Main Contents

Mitsubishi & Co., Ltd. ("Mitsubishi", Head Office: Tokyo, President and CEO: Kenichi Hori) has decided to make an additional investment in Willis Mitsubishi & Co. Engine Support Limited ("WMES"), a joint venture between Mitsubishi and Willis Lease Finance Corporation ("WLFC"), which is a leading lessor of commercial aircraft engines and global provider of aviation services.

Since 2011, Mitsubishi has been engaging in the aircraft engine operating lease business via WMES. Starting with WMES' acquisition of Bridgend Asset Management Limited, an aviation asset management company affiliated with WLFC (the "Transaction"), Mitsubishi plans to expand its aircraft engine-related business. Mitsubishi will further strengthen its partnership with WLFC, provide WMES with technical service functions in relation to aircraft engines, and enter into the aircraft engine after-sales market, which is expected to grow.
The completion of the Transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

The aviation industry is projected to see sustainable growth against the backdrop of the expansion of global passenger demand. With the growth and expanded capabilities of WMES, Mitsubishi will provide solutions to challenges faced by airlines in ensuring stable operations, respond to the diverse needs of the aviation industry, and contribute to maintaining a foundation for the reliable transportation of people and goods, thereby enriching people's lives.
