New York, NY – (July 1, 2025) – Mitsubishi & Co. (U.S.A.), Inc. ("Mitsubishi USA") is pleased to announce the appointment of Toru Matsui as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2025. Mr. Matsui will also serve as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Americas Business Unit of Mitsubishi & Co., Ltd., Mitsubishi USA's parent company based in Tokyo.

Mr. Matsui brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having most recently served as Representative Director and Executive Vice President of Mitsubishi & Co., Ltd.  As a member of the company's Executive Committee, his oversight responsibilities included IT & communication, digital transformation, and the chemicals and energy businesses. From 2023 to 2025, he held the position of Chief Digital Information Officer.

With a distinguished 35-year career at Mitsubishi & Co., Mr. Matsui has primarily focused on the energy industry. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Mitsubishi's Energy Business Unit 1 and the Energy Solutions Business Unit. From 2018 to 2020, he was General Manager of the Corporate Planning & Strategy Division, where he guided Mitsubishi's global strategic planning. As General Manager of Mitsubishi's E&P Division from 2015 to 2018, he was responsible for the company's global E&P portfolio.

Mr. Matsui joined Mitsubishi & Co., Ltd. in 1990 after graduating from Keio University's Faculty of Law.

He succeeds Sayu Ueno, who has been appointed as Counselor of Mitsubishi & Co., Ltd. following five years in New York as Mitsubishi USA's President and Chief Executive Officer.
